Does Cornea Have Red Risks? As with all organs and tissue transplants, there is also a risk of redness in corneal transplantation. Since the corneal tissue is free of veins, the rejection rate is around 15-20%. A red cornea can be re-transplanted, but rejection can reach 50% of such patients. For example, in patients with keratoconus and dystrophy (surgery), the success rate of surgery is high, but this rate is very low in chemical wounds.
