From birth to birth, glaucoma is one of the important diseases seen in newborn babies. As the disease progresses without symptoms at first, it is noticed that the baby is growing, and there are also statements such as not being able to look at the light, watering. In the later stages of the disease, if not treated, the transparent layer of the eye becomes blurred over time and gradually becomes white. In this case, the baby will gradually lose sight. When the diagnosis is made at the onset of the disease, eye drops will be reduced and the vision loss will be avoided. However, in congenitally glaucomatous babies, eye pressure may rise again after a while and surgery may be needed again. Glaucoma in infants is a more persistent type of glaucoma than adult glaucoma, and sometimes a few surgeries are needed.
